| Rubber check valve in flashback arrestor swollen. | Replace check valve. |
| Pipe to flashback arrestor almost filled with sludge. | Turn off hopper toggle
switched. Vent tank pressure. Remove plug in tee on pipe between tank and flash back arrestor. Clean out pipe. Remove plug in centre of flash back arrestor, bottom and clean It. |
| Acetylene Compressor: | |
| Acetylene compressor fails to start when start push button is pushed: | |
| Acetylene pressure too low. | Increase acetylene generator pressure about 4 Psig but be low 15 Psig. |
| Discharge pressure is above setting of high pressure switch | Reduce
discharge pressure by venting. if compressor does
not start when pressure reaches 25 Psig pressure switch
is defective. |
| Low pressure switch set too high | Set the low pressure switch at 2 and
4 7psig. |
| Overload relay is trapped | Set starter overload. |
| Acetylene compressor stops before maximum charging pressure is reached: | |
| Momentary power failure | Restart compressor. |
| Momentary power holding | Reset starter overload. |
| High pressure control switch set too low |
Reset high indicator at 350 Psig and low at 50 Psig If
manifold pressure
gauges agree, calibration of pressure switch is wrong.
Reset high set point so that compressor 350 Psig. |
| Pressure too high in any of three acetylene gas compressor stages: | |
